2017 GSER Entry Criteria
All applications will be accepted with the understanding that all decisions are final, either positive or negative, will be at the discretion of the race management committee, and not open to discussion or appeal.
- All runners must be 18 years of age on the day of the race.
- All runners must obtain medical clearance from their GP and need to show proof that they are aware of what they are getting themselves into.
- Runners must know how to read a map and use a compass.
- All runners must have reasonable expectation they can properly prepare for and undertake the challenge that is the Great Southern Endurance Run

Qualifications are broken into 3 categories, with an “A qualifier” carrying the most weight on the application, followed by B and then C, meaning that an applicant who has an A qualifier will be accepted over an applicant with a B, and a B over a C qualification.
Applicant must have run and completed under the cut-off, a 100Mile race with a minimum of 6000m ascent and a minimum of 3000m decent, within the last 18 months from the date of application.
Or have completed the GSER100 under the cut-off within the last 3 years (for 2018 onwards).
Applicant must have run and completed in the last 18 months and under cut-off, a 100Mile race with less ascent and descent as described in the “A qualifier.
Or have run and completed in under cut-off, two 100KM races where, when added, the elevation equals the A qualifier elevation standard, 6000m ascent and a minimum of 3000m decent and also within the last 18 months from the date of application.
Applicants must show an endurance based effort (may be any sport), that in the view of the race committee, is similar or equal to (in physical effort and mental toughness terms) those required in A or B above, completed within the last 18 months from the date of application.

Q: Can I fill out an application if I do not yet have my qualifier?
A: Yes, for the inaugural event – you can nominate an event or events for your qualifier as long as it falls prior to 30th August 2017.
Q: What if I enter and I DNF at my chosen qualifier?
A: Anyone who does not fill their qualifier by the 30th August 2017 will forfeit their entry.
Q: What if I enter – do not complete my qualifier but find another runner who wants my entry – can i transfer it?
