Entry Criteria – Relay

2017 GSER entry criteria for relay teams.

All applications will be accepted with the understanding that all decisions are final, either positive or negative, will be at the discretion of the race management committee, and not open to discussion or appeal.

  • All runners must be 18 years of age on the day of the race.
  • All runners must obtain medical clearance from their GP and need to show proof that they are aware of what they are getting themselves into.
  • Runners must know how to read a map and use a compass.

 

Entry Qualifications:


Qualification:  Relay


Qualifications are broken into 3 categories, with an “A qualifier” carrying the most weight on the application, followed by B and then C, meaning that an applicant who has an A qualifier will be accepted over an applicant with a B, and a B over a C qualification.

accepted over a team with a B, and a B over a C qualification.  A
team is classified in a qualification category (A, B or C) if more than one applicant fits the criteria of that category.
A: Qualifier
Each applicant must have run and completed under the cut-off, a    100Km or 50Mile race with a minimum of 3000m
ascent, within the last 18 months from the date of application.
B: Qualifier
Each applicant must have run and completed a sub 5Hr trail marathon. Or have run and completed two sub 4hr30 road marathons within the last 18 months from the date
of application.
C: Qualifier
Each applicant must show an endurance based effort (may be any sport), that in the view of the race committee, is similar or equal to (in physical effort and mental toughness terms) those required in A
or B above.
